We are Coral Denize and Josh Jones, the “young Christchurch couple” mentioned in the recent TVNZ story on Royce’s retirement (the video of the interview is at the bottom of this page if you want to take a look!) It’s hard to convey how excited we are – but we hope it will show in how we represent the McGlashen name and honour the quality brand that Royce and Trudi have built up over the years.

From 1st March 2025 we have been running McGlashen Pottery, with Royce & Trudi supporting in a handover capacity through the first few months. While we have significantly less experience than Royce, who is coming up on 60 years in the trade and is one of New Zealand’s finest ever potters, we are committed to building a life in ceramics too. Coral will be the head potter, and we are both working directly on production and sales.

We will begin by re-building our stock levels and plan to begin taking orders from April 1st 2025. We are going to focus initially on the 15 most popular shapes, plus dinnerware, in the classic colours. Later in the year, after we have settled into production and the business, we will start to introduce new colours and new shapes.
